Enjoy chemical peels for treating unwanted pigmentation, melasma, wrinkles, and other skin imperfections

Chemical peels are a fantastic way to improve your skin’s tone and texture, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and reverse the signs of aging. Chemical peels are categorized into three principle types

Superficial Peels: Superficial peels help exfoliate the upper layer of the epidermis, brightening the skin and evening pigmentation with little discomfort and minimal downtime. These types of peels are great for people who desire minimal downtime and who want to treat conditions such as sun spots (solar lentigines), melasma, and dull/uneven skin tone.

Medium-Depth Peels- Medium-depth peels penetrate into the upper (papillary) dermis. They are excellent for improving fine lines, pigmentation, pore size, and can also make significant improvements in deeper, etched-in lines. While there is a longer recovery, patients tolerate these peels very well and are able to achieve great results in a single treatment.

Deep Peels- Deep peels extend into the mid- and deep dermis. At Clarity Dermatology, we generally combine deep peels with medium-depth peels to achieve natural, noticeable results. Deep peels can be used to improve laxity in the skin around the eyelids as well as deep, etched-in lines around the mouth/lips. Patients tolerate this procedure very well and enjoy excellent results.

Whatever your goals, our team at Clarity Dermatology can assist!

What can I expect from my chemical peel treatment?

At your initial consultation, we will evaluate your skin and carefully listen to your concerns in order to ensure that you are a proper candidate for this treatment. Then, an appointment is made to perform the chemical peel. Our team cleanses the skin before we apply a custom blend of peeling agents designed to specifically target your concerns.

Depending on the strength and depth of the peel, you may experience swelling, redness, and peeling for several days after the peel. This is a sign that the treatment is working, exfoliating away dead skin cells and revealing newer, more youthful skin underneath! You will be given aftercare instructions to make sure the face heals properly after the treatment.,

In the days prior to and following your treatment, we recommend avoiding sun exposure for a specific time, as the skin is much more susceptible to UVA/UVB light and you will heal better. Patients can choose from superficial to deep chemical peels, depending on the desired final result, how fast they want to see the results and how much downtime they can schedule after their procedure.

What can chemical face peels be used to treat?

Chemical peels can treat the following conditions:

This skin peeling treatment can help reduce the appearance of:

  • Dark spots and other discoloration
  • Melasma
  • Large pores
  • Fine lines/wrinkles
  • Deep lines and wrinkles
