Botox and other injectable neuromodulating agents such as Xeomin and Dysport can be used to target wrinkles caused by muscle contraction. Most commonly, these wrinkles are found between the eyebrows, on the forehead, and around the eyes (“crow’s feet,” which occur when squinting). Over time, these lines become “etched” into the skin and become more apparent, even at rest. Botox can be carefully injected into the muscles that cause these wrinkles, thus diminishing the appearance of these signs of aging or preventing them from occurring in the first place.
Treatment results last from 3-6 months and can range from a subtle decrease in muscle movement to a complete loss of muscle function. After a consultation with Dr. Jensen, a plan can be tailored to your individual wants and goals.
